- ★ ★ ☆ ☆ ☆Uncalled For! Stopped by at 2:43 on Saturday and they were closed. Sign on the door clearly states they're open from 10-5 on Saturdays. Anchorage already has a major shortage of precious metals / coin shops. They lost hundreds of dollars from me today, because I would've bought up a ton of rare coins and silver. Effin Carl. - ★ ★ ★ ★ ★I (KATHY) work at Carls I want say, we have been told; somewhere on the internet it says we do currency exchange. We do not, nor have we authorized anyone to advertise that. We get calls all the time, requesting currency exchange. At one time there was a currency exchange at the airport. Since the Euro came into existence the old currency cannot be exchanged.
